Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of RAK Public Services Department, and Sheikh Saqr bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of RAK Ceramics, attended a traditional Chinese theater show in the Emirate yesterday, Sunday, 08 September. The event, attended by His Excellency Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the UAE, celebrated Ras Al Khaimah’s growing cultural, tourism and economic ties with China.

Held at Ras Al Khaimah Cultural Development Center, the cultural event featured 15 traditional Chinese performances, including ethnic music and dance, plate spinning and thrilling acrobatics, all presented in authentic costumes to an audience of over 900 attendees from Ras Al Khaimah and the UAE.

Titled ‘A MoonMoment to Remember in Ras Al Khaimah’, the show was coordinated by Safarak Travel + Tourism and also featured a heritage exhibition of traditional Chinese handicrafts, as well as a cultural and tourism briefing.

The event was also attended by dignitaries from the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, and several Ras Al Khaimah Government officials.  Representatives from leading Chinese news outlets, China Global Television Network (CGTN), People’s Daily and China Daily, were also present.

The event followed a two-day visit to Ras Al Khaimah in May by the Chinese Ambassador to the UAE, His Excellency Zhang Yiming, and his accompanying delegation, when they were invited to visit His Highness Sheikh Saud’s farm on Jebel Jais and explore some of the Emirate’s leading businesses.
