Ras Al Khaimah Ruler meets Chinese Vice Premier for high-level discussions

September 8, 2024, Xiamen, Fujian, China: His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, yesterday held a high-level meeting with the Chinese Vice Premier, His Excellency Hé Lìfēng, where they discussed the extensive relations between their nations and ways to stimulate further cultural exchange, investment and trade.

As the UAE and China mark 40 years of diplomatic relations in 2024, HH Sheikh Saud offered His Excellency the best wishes of the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during their meeting, which comes at the start of the Ras Al Khaimah Ruler’s six-day visit to China.

HH Sheikh Saud said: “The UAE is China’s largest trading partner in the Arab region, which speaks of the strength of relations and how our growing partnerships make our nations important strategic trade destinations for each other. Through further constructive dialogue and exchange of ideas and expertise, we seek to expand cultural, economic and trade relations with China and accelerate sustainable development and cooperation, so that both our peoples may prosper.”

On Sunday, HH Sheikh Saud delivered a keynote address at the opening of the 24th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT), which is one of the largest investment fairs in China, attracting more than 1,000 business delegations, 5,000 companies and 50,000 business professionals.

During his trip, which also takes in stops in the cities of Dongguan and Shenzhen, both in Guangdong Province, HH Sheikh Saud will hold a number of meetings with government and business leaders, as well as visit cultural and historical sites.
